Numerical solution of steady viscous flow of a micropolar fluid driven by injection between two porous disks

چکیده
Steady, laminar, incompressible and two-dimensional flow of a micropolar fluid between two porous coaxial disks is considered. To describe the working fluid, we use the micropolar model given by Eringen. The governing equations of motion are reduced to a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations using Berman’s similarity transformation. The SOR iterative method is used to solve the differential equations numerically. For higher order accuracy, the results obtained are further refined and enhanced by Richardson’s extrapolation method. The results of micropolar fluids are compared on different grid sizes. 2005 Published by Elsevier Inc.

MHD Flow and Heat Transfer Analysis of Micropolar Fluid through a Porous Medium between Two Stretchable Disks Using Quasi-Linearization Method
In this paper, a comprehensive numerical study is presented for studying the MHD flow and heat transfer characteristics of non-Newtonian micropolar fluid through a porous medium between two stretchable porous disks. The system of governing equations is converted into coupled nonlinear ordinary ones through a similarity transformation, which is then solved using Quasi-linearization ...

The vast biological and industrial applications of laminar flow of viscous fluid through a porous channel with contracting or expanding permeable wall have attest to the importance of studying the flow process. In this paper, two-dimensional flow of viscous fluid in a porous channel through slowly expanding or contracting walls with injection or suction is analyzed using variation parameter met...

This article presents the heat and mass transfer characteristics of unsteady MHD flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting micropolar fluid in the presence of viscous dissipation and radiation over a porous stretching sheet with chemical reaction. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are reduced to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by applying suitable si...

We numerically investigate the pulsatile flow and heat transfer of a micropolar fluid through a Darcy-Forchhmeir porous channel in the presence of wall transpiration. We use the central difference approximations for the spatial derivatives, whereas the time integration has been performed by employing the three steps explicit Runge-Kutta method to obtain the numerical solution. It i...

Control of a fluid velocity profile by injection and suction of non-ionized flow in presence of a uniform steady magnetic field has important technical applications. In this paper, the unsteady incompressible and viscous conducting fluid flow has been investigated in a circular channel. The channel wall has been assumed to be non-conducting and porous. It has been subjected to a uniform steady ...
